This place is hands down the best Italian in Athens! It’s a must-visit for all you foodies out there. The handmade pastas are made with the finest ingredients, and their signature dish, papardeles with pastourmas and crayfish, is absolutely to die for. They also have a great wine list, but I think they could make it a bit more approachable for those who aren’t wine connoisseurs.

The service was really good and the food was fresh. It’s a nice ambient. All of the waitresses are very obliging! Gonna go to different the next time I come back to Athens ! Ps: Prices are compared to German prices low .

Incredible food and service! If you love pasta this is the place for you! We were truly amazed by the taste of each bite. I got the spice papardeles which were mild spicy and were more than enough for me. For dessert we got the one with the creme brulee and the mango sorbet which was truly mind blowing Highly recommend! Both thumbs up

We visited while fasting for the Greek orthodox Easter and we had some lovely options from the menu. Radicchio salad with blueberries, shrimp and tarama pizza and fresh papardele pasta with tomato and basil. We loved everything by especially the pizza!! Service was amazing and they guided us through the available options (due to fasting). It was not our first time there and will certainly won't be the last.

From a pure gastronomical perspective the flavors are intense and filled with complexity. From the bread sticks to the pasta every dish has a statement to make. The pasta I had was the Pappardelle Amatriciana, a simple yet vividly flavoured dish. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the spicy sauce filled your mouth with freshness and a mellow spicy aftertaste.

Their pizza was also top-notch, with a crispy crust and a delicious tomato sauce that was perfectly balanced with the toppings.
The service at Makarounes was also commendable. The staff was friendly and attentive, always making sure that we had everything we needed and that our dining experience was enjoyable.
